Levan Khabeishvili, former chairman of the opposition party "United National Movement" and a deputy of the parliament, claims that the ruling Georgian Dream plans to bring 300-500 "strong people" close to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov for the October 26 elections.

As Khabeishvili said, perhaps this issue was discussed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze during their meeting with former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in Germany.

"Based on my information, 300-500 muscular people from other countries will be mobilized, who will then crush the oppositional people at the polling stations. Ask Kaladze and Kobakhidze if this meeting of theirs was related to bringing Zonders to the country? They tell us what they talked about, if they didn't talk about geopolitics, we know," Khabeishvili said.

On June 30, Nurmagomedov was in Cologne, Germany, where he attended the match between Georgia and Spain at the European Championship. The Dagestan athlete also met the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and Tsotne Ivanishvili, the son of the founder of Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili. Their joint photos, which were taken in a cafe, were shared by Nurmagomedov himself on social networks. Despite the criticism, Kobakhidze and Kaladze did not explain the meeting.

Georgian Dream  MP and parliament vice-speaker Gia Volski responded to today's statement by Levan Khabeishvili. As he said, the opposition politician is lying and trying to "create perceptions."

"What Khabeishvili says is far from intelligent. He tells lies, but they are poorly conceived, and everyone knows that his statements are not related to reality. I don't think the public will believe him, including his supporters," said Volski.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most titled fighters of UFC. He ended his career in the fall of 2020. During the fight in the UFC, Nurmagomedov was cheered by both Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
