At today's session, members of Georgian Dream who held positions in the illegitimate government - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songhulashvili, Minister of Justice Anri Okhanashvili, and Deputy Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili - were also stripped of their powers as MPs.
Today, Georgian Dream does not intend to terminate the mandates of opposition members who have submitted corresponding statements to Parliament. The party plans to conclude the fall session on Friday.
On November 25, Georgian Dream held the first session of the Parliament of the 11th convocation and recognized the authority of all 150 members, despite the legality of their election being contested in the Constitutional Court. On November 28, the illegitimate parliament also approved the government.
As per the final data from the Central Election Commission, Georgian Dream secured 89 mandates in Parliament, Coalition for Change received 19, Unity - National Movement gained 16, Strong Georgia obtained 14, and the party Gakharia for Georgia acquired 12. However, none of the opposition parties recognize these results. They claim the elections were rigged and are demanding new parliamentary elections.
