"Actually, we don't have a large number of subjects. There is the National Movement itself, which includes a few additional parties that are participating in these elections together. You also know that the collective National Movement includes Ahali, Girchi, and Droa. All these politicians and leaders have a past directly connected with the National Movement, and their present is also connected with it.
Additionally, there is the union Lelo, which was directly involved in business rackets and should also be subject to investigation. Along with the National Movement regime, the leaders of this political force were involved in a business racket and should be prosecuted.
Gakharia, which has formed a coalition with the National Movement in four municipalities, is in direct alliance with this criminal political force. This is one collective criminal political force that must be brought to justice. The relevant authorities will make decisions regarding the rest," said Irakli Kobakhidze at today's briefing.
Regarding the banning of opposition parties, the Prime Minister also mentioned that it is not only a matter of filing a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court: "It is possible that specific cases will be initiated in the prosecutor's office, a complaint can be prepared, or a parliamentary investigative commission can be created."
Furthermore, Kobakhidze stated that after banning the opposition parties, it would be logical to revoke the MP mandates of their representatives elected to Parliament. "Based on the current constitution, only the Constitutional Court can cancel mandates.
I believe that banning the party would naturally lead to the abolition of mandates. Members of a criminal political force should not hold the status of a member of the Parliament of Georgia. Therefore, it would be logical," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
On the 12th anniversary of being in power, the main election promise of Georgian Dream is to ban opposition parties."
