This announcement was followed by a question from a journalist about the European Commission’s annual Enlargement Package report. He called the document “a big injustice” and stated that it contains distorted facts about Georgia.
"The document reflects the tragic situation that has been created in the European bureaucracy. The results of this tragic situation are the loss of sovereignty and also a declining EU economy, which once accounted for 30% of the world’s economy and now has dropped to 17.5%. This share is decreasing year by year. The current tragic situation is reflected in both the economic and political problems that the EU faces today, largely due to the loss of sovereignty caused by the European bureaucracy," said Kobakhidze, who was on an official visit to China.
He expressed hope that the "tragic situation" in the EU will improve and that its permanent decline in democracy, human rights, and the economy will be reversed.
"We want to become a member of a transformed EU, not the EU we see today," said the Georgian Dream Prime Minister.
Irakli Kobakhidze also assessed his official visit to China, stating that the most important part of the visit was the meeting with Li Qiang, the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
“We talked about bilateral relations and discussed an important matter of cooperation, in which we are willing to strengthen our partnership. We were assured by our partners that we would receive their full support and assistance in this endeavour. The interest in deepening the bilateral partnership is strong. This holds significance for the realisation of our country’s national strategic interests. We were speaking very openly with our Chinese partners about this,” stated Kobakhidze
GD Prime Minister noted that they will do everything in the future to strengthen the Georgia-China partnership.
