"First of all, I would like to draw attention to our diaspora, which has been very active in registering for the upcoming elections. Despite the efforts of the CEC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and consulates – all of whom have been involved in the process – and all agencies working to prevent delays, the diaspora has managed to register in large numbers.
It is now the responsibility of the consulates, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the CEC to ensure that polling stations are arranged in such a way that no issues arise on election day. I want to make it clear that they will be held directly accountable if the necessary additional spaces are not opened to allow registered voters to cast their ballots within the allotted time. This is a very serious warning," said Salome Zourabichvili.
As she stated, this is the time to prepare to safeguard every vote. She emphasized the role of young people and urged them to register as observers.
"Each of you is responsible for your vote, for participating in the elections. Every individual, every citizen. If a loved one abroad is unable to register, is not registered, or is removed from the voter list, it is your duty to cast your vote on their behalf and to protect your vote doubly. Observers are crucial for ensuring this protection, and there are organizations that offer training where you can sign up.
I want to address the youth: you are the future of our country, and your future will be decided on October 26. Therefore, you bear a great responsibility, and you will undoubtedly be the defenders of your votes.
There is an organization coordinating various non-governmental groups for observer training, called My Voice, and I encourage all of you to feel this responsibility - to become observers, which will serve as a boost for everyone on election day.
And most importantly - mobilization, turning out to vote! I have said this many times, and I will say it again and again: the defeat of the falsification that is being prepared from all sides, which we can clearly see, depends on mobilization - on everyone showing up to vote. It is my duty, your duty, and everyone's duty to participate. No vote should be left unused in the effort to protect this country, its independence, and its European future - it is in our hands.
Finally, I want to announce that a coordination platform will be organized here at the palace on election day so that we can monitor everything that happens and then celebrate victory together," said the President.
There are 19 days left until the elections. On October 26, voters will elect 150 deputies to the Parliament for its eleventh convocation through a proportional system. To enter parliament, a political party must surpass the 5% threshold.
