"We must admit that the Russian Federation has won in Georgia today. They took part of the country, changed the policy, and changed the government, resulting in a pro-Russian government with pro-Russian positions. There are no sanctions against Putin, and many Russians are in Georgia.
Their choice is friendship with Russia; their choice is not to join the European Union. They have changed their position. Russia won today. The freedom of Georgia has been taken away.
We are more numerous. This is the difference between us and Georgia: we have a larger population and more men who did not want to be Russians," said the President of Ukraine.
Commenting on the situation in Moldova, Zelensky stated that Russia is "moving in the same direction."
Representatives of the Georgian government have yet to respond to Volodymyr Zelensky's statement.
Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 26, in which, according to data announced by the Central Election Commission, Georgian Dream won with 54% support. 4 opposition parties and President Salome Zourabichvili believe that this result is "totally falsified.” As Zourabichvili stated, a "Russian special operation" was conducted in Georgia, and "nothing can make these elections legitimate."
