Davit Gamkrelidze, the former leader of the New Rightists, has joined the Strong Georgia coalition, which includes the parties Lelo, Citizens, For the People, and the political movement Freedom Square. He will lead the coalition's election campaign, and as he stated, his primary goal will be to "end Ivanishvili's Russian government."

Davit Gamkrelidze was introduced by Mamuka Khazaradze, the chairman of Lelo, at today's briefing. As Khazaradze says, the decision for Gamkrelidze to join the coalition was preceded by lengthy negotiations.
"I am truly impressed by the intelligence, experience, and successful stories that have come together here. This was perhaps one of the reasons why I made the somewhat difficult decision to step out of my comfort zone and join this serious fight - to put it bluntly, the war ahead of us to bring real change to the country.
My task, together with these people, will be to ensure that the Strong Georgia coalition achieves the best results in these elections. But I must say that the main goal for me personally, for this team, and probably for the entire society should be, and will be, to ensure the change of regime - the end of Ivanishvili's Russian government," Gamkrelidze said.
As Davit Gamkrelidze says, one of his responsibilities will be maximum coordination with other opposition forces so that on October 26, they "send the Russian government home" and return Georgia to the European path.
"This does not signify my return to politics in any way. I am not planning to become a deputy or to continue with party life; I will only be a leader during these hostilities," Gamkrelidze added.
It was also announced today that the spokesperson for the Strong Georgia election staff will be Ana Natsvlishvili, a member of Lelo and a deputy.
