The statement by the employees of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia follows the decision of the Georgian Dream, which states that Georgia will not put the issue of opening negotiations on European Union membership on the agenda until the end of 2028 and will refuse budgetary grants from the European Union.
“Our primary duty as employees of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia is to strengthen the security of the state, enhance defense capabilities, and remain loyal to the Constitution of Georgia.
For many years, the Ministry of Defense of Georgia has successfully served the country’s national interests, both by building the defense forces and promoting Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
European and Euro-Atlantic integration is the only viable path to further strengthen the country’s security and sovereignty, as well as the main priority of our foreign and security policy. This is reinforced by both the Constitution of Georgia and all conceptual documents at the national and departmental levels.
Recognizing the importance of Georgia’s cooperation with European and Euro-Atlantic structures, as well as the contribution of Western partners to the development of Georgia’s defense and deterrence capabilities, we remain committed to the obligations outlined in Article 78 of the Constitution of Georgia. We serve Georgia!” - say the employees of the Ministry of Defense.
