Gakharia's Party Urges Supporters to Rally at Parliament on November 25 at 9 AM

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

The opposition party Gakharia for Georgia has called on its supporters to join a rally on Rustaveli Avenue on November 25 at 9:00 AM. In their statement, the party asserts that the parliament, set to convene tomorrow in its one-party composition, does not represent the will of the people.

"Tomorrow, the Parliament of the 11th convocation of Georgia will convene with a one-party composition that lacks the support and trust of the majority of society. This parliament cannot represent the will of the Georgian people!

Moreover, representatives of the diplomatic corps will not attend tomorrow's session. This parliament does not even enjoy international recognition.

Therefore, tomorrow, the peaceful voice of the Georgian people must be heard outside the Parliament of Georgia, not within its meeting hall.

The outraged voice of the Georgian people must reach those who have stolen their choice, and we must demonstrate to our international friends where the Georgian people stand and what their will is. We, therefore, call on our supporters to join us in a peaceful protest outside the Parliament of Georgia tomorrow, ensuring that our peaceful voice is heard by all," reads the statement issued by the party.

On November 25, Georgian Dream plans to hold the first session of parliament and assert its authority without the president officially convening the session, as required by the constitution. The legitimacy of this parliament is not recognized by the opposition parties, which, according to data from the Central Election Commission, surpassed the electoral threshold, nor by President Salome Zourabichvili.

Since Sunday evening, representatives of the opposition, along with their supporters, have been gathering in front of the parliament building and intend to spend the night there.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned the organizers and participants of the protest that blocking the parliament building constitutes a criminal offense punishable by up to four years of imprisonment.
