Georgian Dream to Hold Demonstration in Tbilisi on October 23

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

Three days before the parliamentary elections, on Wednesday, October 23, a summary meeting of the Georgian Dream election campaign will be held in Tbilisi. The event will start at 19:00, instead of the originally announced time of 16:00, at Freedom Square.

"We are expecting a lot of people, and we are confident that the central part of the capital will be filled with our supporters. Our society, Western partners, and international observers will once again see the tremendous support for the ruling team," said Givi Mikanadze, a member of Georgian Dream, at today's briefing.

According to opposition representatives, plans are in place to mobilize administrative resources from across the country for the demonstration. Giorgi Kiladze, a member of the Coalition for Change, stated that employees from various LEPLs and NNLEs, as well as school and kindergarten teachers, are being coerced into attending the Georgian Dream event in Kutaisi.

"We have communicated with a certain number of them who, in private conversations, openly mention the names of those who threaten to terminate their employment if they do not participate in this demonstration on the 23rd. I want to appeal to the Georgian Dream: you have four days left in power - act with dignity and do not strip these people of their constitutional right to freedom of choice," Kiladze said.

Three days before the ruling party's summary event, on Sunday, October 20, the Georgia Votes for European Union march took place in Tbilisi, with tens of thousands of participants. After marching with the flags of Georgia and the European Union from five different locations, the citizens gathered at Freedom Square, where a concert was held. The march was organized by a coalition of non-governmental organizations, and President Salome Zourabichvili, along with leaders of various opposition parties, participated.
