“Mariam Kvrivishvili is a member of the ruling party's political council. She previously served as Deputy Minister of Economy, where she successfully oversaw areas like tourism and aviation. Today, her scope of work is expanding, and I am confident that she will be just as successful in the position of minister as she was in leading the respective sectors," Kobakhidze stated.
Levan Davitashvili has been appointed as the Chief Advisor to the Georgian Dream Prime Minister on Economic Issues and Secretary of the Economic Council.
“Leading the ministry involves a daily, heavy routine. By relieving Mr. Davitashvili of his day-to-day ministerial responsibilities, he will focus more effectively on driving the country’s economic growth, attracting investment, and advancing other key initiatives. Mr. Davitashvili is an economist with exceptional, outstanding qualifications, and we believe that from this position, he will best be able to fulfill this mission. This will further contribute to driving the country’s economic growth and attracting investment," declared Irakli Kobakhidze.
Levan Davitashvili thanked Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the Georgian Dream, “who gave him the opportunity to work in high state positions in various directions for years and make a certain contribution to the development of our country. Davitashvili thinks this was a unique and unforgettable chance”.
"Do you all understand what Davitashvili's dismissal means? They've cut off even the very last connection with the Americans and the European Union! The only person from the government whom anyone would talk to is leaving the government!
Everything is worse than you thought when you read this," wrote Tina Khidasheli, former Minister of Defense, after the personnel change in the Georgian Dream government.
Three days ago, Romeo Mikaoutadze was arrested on corruption charges. He served as Deputy Minister of Economy in 2021-2022, and then as First Deputy Minister from December 30, 2022, to February 11, 2024.
