Giorgi Tvauri served as the head of the National Forensic Bureau, named after Levan Samkharauli, from 2012 to 2019. Based on a statement released by the government administration, he has held various positions over the years, including deputy head of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, director of the National Probation Agency under the Ministry of Penitentiary, Probation, and Legal Assistance, and head of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Penitentiary, Probation, and Legal Assistance.
On August 14, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze issued an order dismissing Mamuka Jangulashvili, who had been appointed as head of the National Forensic Bureau, in March 2021 by the then Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili.
