According to the government administration, the Prime Minister of Hungary will visit with a Georgian government delegation that includes Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó; the Minister of Economic Development, Márton Nádai; the Minister of Finance, Mihály Varga; Secretary of State Jánosz Máté; and other officials.
The Prime Minister of Hungary congratulated Georgian Dream on their victory in the parliamentary elections immediately after the results of the exit poll conducted by Imedi TV were announced, even before the Central Election Commission had released the preliminary results.
"Congratulations to Prime Minister PM Kobakhidze and the Georgian Dream party on their overwhelming victory at the parliamentary elections today. The people of Georgia know what is best for their country, and made their voice heard today!" Orbán wrote on X.
As per the Imedi exit poll, Georgian Dream received 56.1% of the votes in the parliamentary elections. However, other exit polls indicated that the opposition won the election, with the ruling party receiving only 40.9%. Based on preliminary data from the CEC (with 99.968% of precincts counted), Georgian Dream garnered 53.92% of the votes.
Viktor Orbán visited Georgia four days before the 2012 parliamentary elections, during which he made statements supporting President Saakashvili.
