"My house is being searched - devices are being seized. They are taking all the devices from the family, including my laptop and the kid’s. The reason is an ongoing investigation related to the Atlantic Council, where Sopo is employed," wrote Giorgi Noniashvili, Sopo Gelava's husband.
The Atlantic Council is an American research institute founded in 1961. Sopo Gelava and Eto Buziashvili are researchers at the organization's Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFR Lab), where they study Russian propaganda and disinformation.
Employees of the Investigative Service are also searching the office of Concentrix Georgia, an American company that provides consulting services to large business firms abroad.
The Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance has not clarified which articles of the Criminal Code are involved or what specific facts prompted the investigation.
