The police arrested Lasha Nakaidze, the host of the morning program of the "Mtavari Arkhi". The investigation against Nakaidze started under three articles of the Criminal Code - he is accused of domestic violence, attempted rape and threats against a family member.

"Mtavari Arkhi" responded to the arrest of the TV presenter with a statement. According to the channel, one of the "Main Channel" employees informed the police about the fact that happened on August 15, 2022, after which the injured woman was medically examined and questioned, and Lasha Nakaidze was arrested based on her testimony.
Based on the seriousness of the charges brought against Nakaidze, "Mtavari Arkhi" considers itself obliged to stop any cooperation with him; however, if he is not proven to have committed a crime, the channel will reconsider the possibility of restoring business relations with Lasha Nakaidze.
The TV company condemns and disassociates itself from all kinds of violence, especially when it comes to violence perpetrated by men on women, which is not justified under any circumstances.
Lasha Nakaidze was arrested on August 16.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs statistical data, from January to June 2022, 4313 restraining orders were issued for domestic violence. Of the registered cases, 1094 are physical violence, 3988 psychological, 86 economic, 39 coercion, and 20 neglect. There may be two or three different types of violence in one reported case simultaneously.
In 2021, 9376 cases of domestic violence were registered in Georgia.
