"I don't think it's about money for us. I don't think anyone thinks about money.
What the [former] prime minister said is obviously a good gesture, but we are not playing for money, but for our country.
This is the most important thing: to achieve good results for our country, not money. I think that all football players think like that," Lochoshvili said.
After qualifying for the 2024 European Championship, Bidzina Ivanishvili's Cartu Foundation announced that it would give 30 million GEL to the national team if they advanced out of the subgroup. Additionally, the Cartu Foundation will reward the national team with an extra 30 million GEL for each subsequent match win after exiting the subgroup.
At the European Championship in Germany, the Georgian national football team achieved a historic result: on June 26, after defeating Portugal, they advanced out of the group. On June 30, they will meet Spain in the round of 16.
