The Ministry of Health does not publish the names of doctors who have been suspended.
“Within its terms of reference, Professional Development Council conducts a thorough and detailed study of the professional activities of doctors, considers quality of healthcare services provided to the patients, possible malpractice of medical personnel, professional liability and cases of careless/unethical attitude towards patients,” the Ministry of Health said.
According to the Ministry, the council members reviewed professional liability of 387 doctors and imposed various sanctions on 266 doctors in 2022. Of these, 70 doctors were suspended for various terms, and six had their state certificates revoked.
The Professional Development Council meets once a week and makes decisions by majority vote. Taking into account the detected violations, the council is authorized to terminate the right of medical personnel to work, or to suspend them for an optimal period, to order them to undergo a professional rehabilitation course and to issue a written warning.
