Gia Tsagareishvili is one of the 84 MPs who supported the adoption of the Russian Law on so-called Foreign Agents.
From 2004 to 2016, Tsagareishvili was a member of Parliament in the 6th, 7th, and 8th convocations, and from 2017 to 2018, he served as an advisor to the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
In the 2020 parliamentary elections, Tsagareishvili was 65th on the proportional list of Georgian Dream. The party won 60 proportional mandates, so he did not initially secure a seat in the 10th convocation of Parliament. However, he entered the legislative body in 2022, replacing the excluded member, Kakha Kuchava.
Tsagareishvili will be succeeded by Archil Gorduladze. On October 26, the population of Georgia will elect the Parliament of the 11th convocation.
