Natsvlishvili Says Ivanishvili Violated the Law During His Vote

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Ana Natsvilishvili, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia coalition, stated that the Mtatsminda polling station was "blocked" while Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of Georgian Dream, was casting his vote - a violation of the law.

Ivanishvili arrived at the polling station with security personnel, accompanied by his family members - his wife, two children, and daughter-in-law.

"Today, a Russian oligarch violated Georgian law during the voting process, casting his ballot under unprecedented security mobilization, which blocked the precinct. During this time, citizens were unable to exercise their right to vote because the oligarch was in control of the district. This is a violation of the law. According to Georgian law - and nowhere else in Europe - such voting is invalid," said Natsvilishvili.

She added that the Strong Georgia observer was prevented from exercising their powers and filing a complaint.

"I call on the chairman of the third district in the first district of Mtatsminda and commission members to uphold the country’s laws, not follow the Russian oligarch. This is your duty. Do not interfere with the representative of Strong Georgia," Natsvilishvili stated at the briefing.

Ana Natsvlishvili also addressed the physical confrontation at the 9th election precinct in Zugdidi, urging the prosecutor’s office to launch an investigation.

"A criminal offense was committed against our representative, who was physically assaulted after he objected to people associated with Georgian Dream standing too close to the area where voters cast their ballots, thus violating the principle of voter confidentiality. After he protested, he was physically assaulted," said Natsvilishvili.
