"In the evening, when he was heading to the rally on Nutsubidze Street, near his house, it seems he was taken directly from his car. We didn't know where he had been taken. After he failed to make contact for more than 40 minutes, we followed the usual route Kote takes, and along the way, we found his car parked in a place with no cameras. Most likely, he was kidnapped directly from the street," said the detainee’s brother, David Chakhunashvili, in an interview with TV company Formula.
Konstantine Chakhunashvili has been transferred to the Dighomi detention center.
Yesterday, information spread on social media that criminal police officers had visited Konstantine Chakhunashvili’s home and summoned him for questioning in connection with one of the criminal cases. He refused to come to the department and was expected to appear in court for questioning in the presence of a magistrate judge. Davit Chakhunashvili believes the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) intended to detain his brother yesterday.
"Many of us met him on the spot and did not dare. He was probably going to be detained for the same reasons they detain all other active citizens. They are trying to find something to hold everyone accountable for, whether to intimidate, detain, or temporarily exclude them from activity. Given what is happening in the country, I think no one should doubt that Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime has established a dictatorship," noted Davit Chakhunashvili.
Konstantine and Davit Chakhunashvili are the creators of the popular social media page Pediatric Brothers on Instagram and Facebook. Additionally, Konstantine Chakhunashvili is a member of the Stubborns movement.
