Police Raid Davit Kezerashvili's Apartment

The police have entered the apartment owned by Davit Kezerashvili, the founder of Formula TV and former Minister of Defense of Georgia, and are conducting investigative actions.

According to Formula, Dima Chikovani, the brother of Davit Kezerashvili's wife and a member of Unity - National Movement, resides in an apartment on Amagleba Street in Sololaki. However, he is not at home. As reported by a journalist, police officers are attempting to enter the private property by breaking down the door.

The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have not provided an explanation regarding the investigative actions.

Davit Kezerashvili has linked the Ministry of Internal Affairs' actions to today's decision by the European Court of Human Rights, which determined that, in his case, part 1 of Article 6 of the European Convention - the right to a fair trial - was violated.

"The authorities are so upset about the decision of the Strasbourg court that they are currently searching my house. Come on, guys, push us - we will still win!" Kezerashvili wrote on social media.

On December 4, employees of the Central Criminal Police Department searched the offices of opposition parties and the residential apartments of activists. The director of the Criminal Police, Teimuraz Kupatadze, explained that the investigative actions were part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of organizing, leading, or participating in group violence and publicly inciting violent actions. Around ten individuals have been arrested.
