President to Special Forces at Rally: Do You Serve Russia or Georgia?

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

President Salome Zourabichvili visited the special-purpose squad stationed in Freedom Square, coinciding with the ongoing protest rally in front of Parliament. She told the special forces that their duty is to protect Georgia’s statehood and its citizens, not to harm the people.

"Do you serve Russia or Georgia? Who did you swear an oath to? I am interested in the answer. Don’t you answer to your president? Don’t you think about your future? Neither your country nor your children? Not even your ancestors? I want to know who you serve and why, for what purpose. For how many GEL do you serve for another country?" Salome Zourabichvili asked the special forces.

Citizens are protesting the decision of the illegitimate government of Georgia to halt the process of joining the European Union. Rustaveli Avenue is blocked, and various chants can be heard, including "Russians."

In parallel with the protest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has mobilized various units and a water cannon. The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on the participants to protest within the limits set by law and warns that any illegal actions will result in an appropriate legal response from the police.
