In connection with the October 26 parliamentary elections, the de facto government of the occupied Tskhinvali region will close the so-called border. This refers to the "Razdakhan" (Odzisi) and "Pereu" (Perevi) crossings, which typically operate from morning to evening from the 20th to the 30th of each month.

"In order to ensure the safety of the population of South Ossetia and to prevent possible provocations from the pro-Western and nationalist radical forces of Georgia, a decision was made today at the session of the so-called Security Council of the Republic to suspend the operation of the state border checkpoints 'Razdakhan' and 'Pereu' in a simplified manner during October."
The chairman of the meeting, de facto president Alan Gagloev, stated that the situation in Georgia is worsening and becoming more challenging as the parliamentary elections approach. As per his statement, the intelligence services of Western countries and their embassies are openly attempting to destabilize the situation.
"Given that we periodically open the state border for humanitarian purposes from the 20th to the 30th of each month, allowing our citizens to pass through the territory of Georgia, it is necessary to take measures to ensure their safety and that of the republic," Gagloev noted.
The secretary of the so-called South Ossetian Security Council, Anatoly Pliev, was entrusted with overseeing the implementation of this decision.
