"I think there are no doubts. We all know whose handwriting this is – the Russian oligarch Ivanishvili, Georgian Dream... Putin used these exact methods to fight the opposition. Bidzina Ivanishvili, as a typical student of Putin and Russia, is clearly carrying out the task of destroying and fighting the pro-Western opposition in this country. But there is very little time left, only 13 days until the elections. No one is afraid... They are trying to intimidate us with these cheap tactics – raiding offices, breaking windows, and throwing paint," said Irakli Nadiradze, a member of the Tbilisi City Council from the United National Movement.
Leaders of the coalition also responded to the incident. According to Levan Khabeishvili, former chairman of the United National Movement, the office was raided on the orders of parliamentary majority deputy Sozar Subari. Subari is on the party list of Georgian Dream for the 2024 parliamentary elections.
"In the Samgori district, he is the main culprit behind such actions. You can ask Sozar Subari how this criminal act took place, because his low-level subordinates deny involvement. A few days ago, we held a meeting with 2000 residents of Isani-Samgori, and yesterday the National Movement had a very large gathering. That is why they made this decision. We will continue our campaign, visiting every family and speaking to every citizen, showing them that these stone-throwing, abnormal people must not remain in charge of this country. Sozar Subari is, in fact, the head of their election headquarters," Khabeishvili said.
In June of this year, armed individuals raided the central office of the United National Movement, yet no one has been held accountable for this incident.
