"I would like to introduce the main principles agreed upon by us, the political forces:
- We demand the appointment of new elections.
- We do not recognize the results of the recent elections and do not accept the legitimacy of the Parliament.
- We have launched a resistance movement, establishing a front first in Tbilisi, and then expanding throughout Georgia. Each subsequent protest will become increasingly intense, with a clear, focused objective.
- We continue to gather evidence and collect all necessary documentation for a full international investigation to ensure that those who stole the people’s choice are held accountable.
- We are united in this effort; it is a task for all of us to pursue together.
Ultimately, this will continue until we achieve final victory."
According to Giorgi Vashadze, the main slogan of the resistance movement will be, "We demand new elections."
"Our primary target, alongside the government, is now the Central Election Commission. The CEC must annul the election results, as it has been confirmed that the elections were rigged, and privacy was violated.
Our main slogan is 'We demand new elections.' Most importantly, we demand the permanent removal of the Georgian Dream from power," stated Vashadze.
Opposition leaders have announced a meeting tomorrow, November 5, at 14:00 at the Sports Palace.
"We understand that gathering at 2 p.m. may be challenging, but the homeland is ours not only in the evenings; it is ours 24/7. Let’s do our utmost to hold a resistance march from the Sports Palace at 2 p.m. This week is dedicated to resistance marches throughout Tbilisi," Giorgi Vashadze told the rally participants.
As per data from the Central Election Commission of Georgia, Georgian Dream received 53.93% of the votes in the October 26 parliamentary elections. The opposition parties that passed the threshold do not recognize the legitimacy of this result, with the votes distributed as follows:
- Coalition for Change (11.037% of votes)
- Unity - National Movement (10.164%)
- Strong Georgia (8.814%)
- Gakharia for Georgia (7.771%)
President Salome Zourabichvili has also stated that the elections were "entirely falsified" and that Georgia has become "a Russian special operation."
