"If you are on the corrupt Georgian Nightmare train to China, Iran, and Russia, now is the time to GET OFF. Ivanishvili was the first, but he will not be the last. There is still time to save yourself, but once you’re on the list, you’re on for good! No money, no travel," Congressman Joe Wilson wrote on Platform X.
Joe Wilson stated that the United States would sanction and expel from its territory all relatives of criminals.
"America will sanction and remove from our shores all relatives of criminals who attack freedom (Ivanishvili and Company). Corrupt kids and cousins will not enjoy living in our GREAT NATION while their crook fathers and uncles cheat, murder and steal. We must put AMERICA FIRST," Wilson wrote.
On December 27, the United States imposed financial sanctions on Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and honorary chairman of Georgian Dream, "for undermining Georgia's democratic and Euro-Atlantic future in favor of the Russian Federation." The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added Ivanishvili to the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List.
Billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili has not responded to the American sanctions, while the Georgian Dream chairman, Irakli Kobakhidze, described the sanctions as "a reward for protecting the national interests of our country."
