The basis for the opening of additional election precincts was the updated data provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the CEC regarding citizens registered in consular registers in these cities.
"In other states, polling stations are created for no more than 3,000 voters. According to the updated data submitted to the Central Election Commission of Georgia, the number of voters has increased in relation to some districts and cities, exceeding the maximum allowed number," said Giorgi Santurian, Head of the Legal Department of the CEC.
According to updated data, the number of voters with the right to vote abroad is 95 834. The deadline for consular registration expired on October 7.
