"I am glad that he will continue his work as a minister starting today. Mr. Aleksandre is a very qualified, erudite, and experienced person; therefore, my team and I believe he is the best candidate for this position," Kobakhidze said at today’s briefing.
The newly appointed minister made a brief comment, stating that he will continue the reforms initiated by his predecessor. "Education shapes the future of the country, and I believe that with our dedication, hard work, and sense of responsibility, along with the right approach, we can ensure a better future for Georgia," Tsuladze said.
It should be noted that during Aleksandre Tsuladze's tenure as head of the National Center for the Development of Education Quality, the Council for the Authorization of Higher Educational Institutions made a decision regarding Ilia State University, granting the institution what is referred to as conditional authorization. The university's management disagrees with this decision and intends to appeal it.
The position of Minister of Education, Science, and Youth became vacant following the resignation of Giorgi Amilakhvari a few days ago. As Amilakhvari explained, he is returning to the private sector to continue his business activities. He has served as minister since March 2023 and was previously a deputy of Georgian Dream in parliament.
