Rescuers found the body of a child in the Liakhvi River near the village of Pkhveni in the Gori municipality. On June 19, a 14-year-old teenager was swept away by the river from the occupied Tskhinvali.

The Emergency Situations Ministry of de facto South Ossetia reported that the Georgian authorities informed Egor Kochiev, the so-called plenipotentiary representative of the president on post-conflict settlement issues, about the discovery of the body.
"Criminalists are working at the scene of the incident. Information about the procedure for handing over the body will be released later," the so-called ministry stated in the morning.
A 14-year-old boy was swept away by the Liakhvi River on Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened in Tskhinvali city, in the Old Bridge area. Rescuers were unable to catch the child as the strong current carried him to territory controlled by the central government of Georgia. The de facto government appealed to Tbilisi for help through the "hotline."
Search operations in the village of Nikozi, in the area of the dam, continued from the second half of the day.
