“The greater part of my three decades in the Georgian diplomatic service was dedicated to working on European integration issues.
I faithfully fulfilled my official duties as long as I believed I could have at least some impact on the processes. Today, that hope has vanished.
I condemn all forms of violence and hereby resign from my position as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands,” David Solomonia stated in a declaration.
David Solomonia is the second Georgian diplomat to resign from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary following the suspension of Georgia’s European integration process by its illegitimate government. Previously, the Georgian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Otar Berdzenishvili, made the same decision.
Addressing Otar Berdzenishvili’s resignation and criticism from Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees, the illegitimate Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, commented that “there is a problem of understanding what is read and heard.” Kobakhidze further stated that “if one correctly understood what was heard, no one should have felt a sense of protest.”
