“With this public statement, I am announcing that I've submitted my resignation as an Ambassador of Georgia to Bulgaria. Throughout my extensive diplomatic service (more than two decades), I've been actively engaged with my fellow colleagues in advancing Georgia's Euro- Atlantic & EU integration process, and building solid & trustful strategic partnerships with our allies, especially with the United States.
Our tireless efforts shouldn't be undermined or compromised by any means.
No To Violence Against Free Will of Peaceful Protesters, Full Solidarity!!” Otar Berdzenishvili wrote on Platform X.
Yesterday’s statement by the illegitimate Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, was echoed by Georgia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Tarash Papaskua. He emphasized that, under the conditions of Russian occupation, Georgia must move closer to Europe and NATO.
“Today, when Russia continues to occupy 20% of our country, wages a devastating war against Ukraine, fights against Europe and the democratic world, and threatens global security... We need more Europe and more NATO than ever before.
We need more solidarity and support from the free world! Georgia is Europe,” Tarash Papaskua wrote on social media.
Currently, more than 100 employees of the Georgian Foreign Ministry have signed a statement asserting that the suspension of Georgia’s EU accession negotiations until 2028 does not align with the country’s strategic interests and contradicts the constitution. Diplomats believe this decision will lead to the country’s isolation, and without the support of Western partners, Georgia will be left vulnerable to escalating threats, particularly in the context of ongoing developments in the international and security landscape.
Yesterday, November 28, the illegitimate Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, announced that the Georgian Dream had decided to suspend the process of joining the European Union. According to Kobakhidze, they will not put the issue of opening accession negotiations on the agenda until the end of 2028 and will refuse EU budget grants. President Salome Zourabichvili described the decision as a marker for a “constitutional coup” and stated that the illegitimate government had declared war on its own people.
