President: Illegitimate Government Declares War on Its Own People

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

President Salome Zourabichvili has described Georgian Dream's decision to refuse European integration as marking a "constitutional coup." The illegitimate government has effectively declared war on its own people, Zourabichvili.

"Today marks the end of the constitutional coup that has been unfolding over the past several weeks or months. It signifies the conclusion of a march that began with Europe and has now shifted toward Russia. For anyone who still harbored doubts, those doubts were dispelled today.

Today, this non-existent, illegitimate government has declared not peace, but war - war against its own people, its own past, its future, and the future of our society and country.

On this path, there is no Georgian statehood, no independence, no future - only Russia," the president stated during a briefing held at the Orbeliani Palace.

Salome Zourabichvili held an extraordinary meeting with representatives of opposition parties and accredited diplomatic missions in Georgia. According to her, she urged the diplomats to "make all the decisions that have long been deemed acceptable."

"Today, I summoned the diplomatic corps and told them that their assessments have come a little too late. There is nothing left to prove - everything has been confirmed, everything is clear. Within minutes, Putin expressed his satisfaction with the situation and praised the authorities for their obedience. This, at the very least, serves as evidence of what is happening.

I appealed to them and asked them to make all the decisions that have long been acceptable and to support us in our sole demand - the demand of us, the people, and the entire society - to call and hold new elections. This is our solution and the goal we are fighting for," Zourabichvili said.

Salome Zourabichvili addressed civil servants, Georgian ambassadors, the police, the army, and the public, urging them to consider the future they are leaving for their children.

"I want to appeal to the ambassadors - I have already addressed you once. What are you doing today? Who do you serve? What purpose are you fulfilling? Where are you? Do you want to serve Russia? Russia will be here tomorrow unless we all act and take responsibility in our respective roles.

I want to address the police, the real police, the police that serve the state: you are nothing without the state. Your duty is to protect the citizens of this country - not to serve as slaves, not to serve Russians, foreigners, or traitors. So, take into your hands the responsibility that lies with you.

I want to appeal to the Georgian army, the institution whose heart aches the most today. While you may not be obligated or able to act now, you remain the most loyal to this country. It is the army’s heart that aches the most as we witness this country returning to Russia - the very Russia we barely escaped. We proved our independence, and in this palace, portraits of our national heroes are displayed. These heroes will remain here, and no one can remove them, just as no one can strip us of our independence.

I appeal to all of you - those at home, those outside - do not lose hope. Do not let anyone silence today’s protest. What form this protest will take in the coming days remains to be seen. It is up to the community and the united forces to decide. Do not grow accustomed to this situation, do not give in. Resist. I will remain faithful to this fight until the end, as I trust you will too," Zourabichvili declared.

The illegitimate government of Georgia has refused to open negotiations with the European Union until the end of 2028. This statement, made by the illegitimate Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, has sparked protests in Tbilisi and across the regions.
