Russian occupation forces abducted 40-year-old Ramaz Begheluri, a resident of Gugutiantkari village in the Gori municipality, near the occupation line. Based on information from fellow villagers, the incident occurred on April 27 while Ramaz Begheluri was cleaning his brother's grave at the village cemetery.

Begheluri has been illegally arrested for the fifth time. As his mother says, following a previous incident, Ramaz Begeluri's health deteriorated, and he was repeatedly beaten in Tskhinvali.
"He has aggravated epilepsy. When it gets bad, he falls into a coma. The police came in the morning. They told me not to worry about anything, because they are involved. I don't know anything about who or what is involved," says Nora Begheluri.
The Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili responded to the kidnapping of Ramaz Begheluri and wrote on Facebook that Russians are so-called brothers in faith who "do not care about resurrection, grave, family, or homeland."
"The so-called brothers in faith and supposed defenders of values! They don't care about resurrection, the grave, family, or even the homeland - neither its true borders nor the distinction between their own and their neighbor's lands.... And despite all this, some people are equating friends with enemies!", said Salome Zourabichvili.
Ramaz Begheluri was arrested by the occupation regime on February 2, 2021. On March 31, the Tskhinvali court recognized him as a so-called border violator and sentenced him to one-year probation. After 2 months of illegal imprisonment, the Georgian citizen was released on April 1 and handed over to representatives of the central government of Georgia. According to family members, not a month had passed since his release when Ramaz Begheluri fell into a coma and was diagnosed with epilepsy.
Currently, 8 citizens of Georgia remain in the illegal custody of the Tskhinvali regime. Two of them were arrested on April 22 and have not yet been released.
