“Georgia and its people are very dear to our hearts. We are committed to a free and democratic 🇬🇪 in the very heart of Europe. After rigged elections we are concerned about current developments,” Roth writes on Platform X, sharing a photo taken with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.
Roth stated that the chairmen of the foreign relations committees of the parliaments of Germany, Finland, Sweden, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland will arrive in Tbilisi.
On November 6, the chairmen of the foreign relations committees of European parliaments, along with MPs and MEPs, issued a joint statement expressing deep concern over the "unprecedented number of incidents and systemic violations" in the parliamentary elections. They emphasized that the allegations are so serious that only an independent international investigation can thoroughly examine and investigate all the violations observed during the pre-election period and on election day.
