The Football Federation of Georgia has released a statement announcing that the national team has received 30 million GEL, allocated by Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Cartu Foundation, to celebrate their successful participation in the group stage of the European Championship and their achievement of reaching the round of 16.

Captain Guram Kashia thanks Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Cartu Foundation for their support on behalf of the national team.
"On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Kartu Foundation for appreciating our work and supporting football. This is very important for our country and for the further development of our favorite sport.
"I want to thank everyone, every single fan, for their support over the past months. What happened on the streets of Tbilisi on the evening of July 2 brought great happiness and energy to each member of our team. It is with your support and unity that we achieved this historic result of playing in the European Championship and being among the 16 best teams. With this unity and teamwork, we should continue our path and work for new successes," the statement said.
The pro-government media also published comments from the national team's goalkeeper. Giorgi Mamardashvili said that he is "very grateful," like every player.
"It would be good if more companies appeared and invested in football because it is very important. It showed how much football means to people. Both I and the whole team are grateful," Mamardashvili said.
After the Georgian national team qualified for the 2024 European Championship, the Cartu Foundation of the honorary chairman of Georgian Dream, billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, announced that in the case of leaving the group, it would give 30 million GEL to the national team. Ivanishvili awarded the same amount for winning each subsequent match.
The Georgian national team, which took part in the European Championship for the first time, held three matches in Group F and advanced to the round of 16. On June 18, Georgia lost to Turkey 3-1, on June 22, they drew 1-1 with the Czech Republic, and on June 26, they won against Portugal 2-0. On June 30, in the round of 16, the national team met Spain. The game ended with Spain winning 4-1, which led to Georgia's elimination from Euro 2024.
