Khatuna Samnidze and Ethnic Azerbaijani Activists Joined Coalition for Change

The Russian law of the Georgian Dream party threatens independent media and civil society organizations and hinders Georgia from joining the European Union.

Russian law establishes Putin's rules in Georgia, which has eliminated free speech in Russia.

When you are oppressed, there will be no one to cover your problem and stand by you.

Georgian News will resist the Russian intention of the Georgian Dream to the end!

The Chairman of the Republican Party, Deputy Khatuna Samnidze, joined the Coalition for Change before the elections.

"I decided to stand with people with whom I can engage in dialogue, discuss, argue, agree, and collaboratively govern the country so that the people remain the main focus. I won my personal battle, overcame illness, and endured a lot of suffering. Now, it is time to heal the country, and we will do it together with Coalition 4," said Samnidze at the press conference in Zugdidi.

In addition to Khatuna Samnidze, ethnic Azerbaijani activists have also joined the coalition. As Oktai Kazumov, a philologist specializing in Georgian language and literature, says, his team, named Activists for the Future, includes ethnic Azerbaijani activists from various parts of Georgia. "Through their daily work and dedication, they have already proven their loyalty and goodwill toward our homeland and will continue to do so," Kazumov stated.

Opposition political parties are forming coalitions to participate in the October 26 parliamentary elections:

  • The Coalition for Change was initially formed by the parties Ahali, Girchi - More Freedom, and Droa.
  • Lelo, Ana Dolidze's party For the People, the political movement Freedom Square, and Aleko Elisashvili's party Citizens united to create Strong Georgia.
  • Unity was established by the United National Movement and Strategy Agmashenebeli. Political scientist Gia Japaridze, historian Lasha Bakradze, and independent members of parliament, Armaz Akhvlediani and Tamar Kordzaia, also joined this coalition.
