"Georgia deserves unity and justice. It is painful to see our people suffering. Our voices and actions should be directed toward building a better future for the country," wrote the football player in a story published on the social media platform Instagram.
For the second consecutive day, thousands of citizens in Tbilisi are protesting the decision of Georgian Dream to suspend Georgia's European integration process until the end of 2028.
Units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs have used water cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets, and other special measures against the protesters.
Approximately 40 media representatives were injured during the violent dispersal of the demonstration. As per available reports, around 100 citizens have been arrested.
