Lasha Talakhadze successfully lifted 210 and 215 kilograms in the snatching, and 247 and 255 kilograms in the clean and jerk. The silver medal was awarded to Varazdat Lalayan of Armenia, while the bronze medal went to Armenian Gor Minasyan, who competed for Bahrain.
Lasha Talakhadze has now won the gold medal three times in a row, adding to his victories at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Georgia currently has three gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. Georgian judoka and two-time Olympic champion Lasha Bekauri, along with freestyle wrestler Geno Petriashvili, also secured gold medals. Silver medals were earned by judokas Tato Grigalashvili and Ilia Sulamanidze, while boxer Lasha Guruli won a bronze medal.
