On January 29, Irakli Garibashvili resigned from the position of Prime Minister, after which Irakli Kobakhidze, the leader of the parliamentary majority and the chairman of Georgian Dream, became the head of the government. Eleven out of twelve members of the Cabinet of Ministers retained their positions. The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament and the majority deputy of Zugdidi, Irakli Chikovani, replaced Juansher Burchuladze as the Minister of Defense.
