"They planned the murder of Bidzina Ivanishvili and other leaders of the Georgian Dream, along with explosions and terrorist acts, aiming for a coup d'état. They have no other option; winning the elections is out of the question," said Mamuka Mdinaradze, the leader of the parliamentary majority, commenting on the ongoing investigation by the State Security Service.

Speaking to journalists, Mdinaradze noted that this is a continuation of "pseudo-liberal fascism."
"Isn't this a coincidence? This is a continuation of pseudo-liberal fascism, under which there was an attempt to kill Trump, an attempt to kill Fizo, a reference to the murder of Irakli Kobakhidze. Now, it turns out that Bidzina Ivanishvili and our explosions, terrorist acts against us and our honorable chairman were planned. Is this a coincidence? Is this a ridiculous issue, as they try to portray it on social networks?
Isn't this being done by the Global War Party, some force that you keep speculating about as if it doesn't exist and just happens to coincide with itself? Trump's assassination attempt, Fizo's assassination attempt, Orban's escape from the accident, Irakli Kobakhidze pointing out something, etc. - Did all this happen by chance in 2-3 months? Do you believe it's a coincidence? I don't believe it," said Mdinaradze.
In response to a journalist's question about whether the investigative bodies are going to make the evidence public, the Georgian Dream MP said: "I will never be able to give you an answer, especially in the case of secret cases, regarding what evidence exists or does not exist. Maybe I, as one of the supposed targets, know something and I can never talk about it; it is not my competence. Here, Mamuka Mdinaradze may be the smallest official to whom something was planned. The special emphasis, as we all know, was on Bidzina Ivanishvili."
For the last few days, the State Security Service has been summoning Georgians fighting in Ukraine, who are currently in Georgia, for questioning. Gela Kakhabrishvili, a veteran of the Abkhazia and August 2008 wars, and his lawyer, Mikheil Ramishvili, today, after completing the questioning in the presence of a magistrate judge in the Tbilisi City Court, stated that the SSS investigator's questions were about the preparation of a terrorist act against Bidzina Ivanishvili and Georgian Dream officials.
SSS also interviewed Nadim Khmaladze and Lasha Chigladze, fighters in Ukraine; however, they did not say that the questions asked were about the preparation of a terrorist act against Ivanishvili.
The State Security Service has not made a statement regarding the ongoing investigation. However, the pro-government media recently reported that the criminal case has been initiated under Articles 315 and 18-323, which involve conspiracy to change the constitutional structure of Georgia by violence and preparation of a terrorist act. TV company Imedi reports that "a terrorist act is being prepared against Bidzina Ivanishvili and other leaders of Georgian Dream."
