The traffic accident occurred at dawn. TV companies Formula and Mtavari report that the motorcycle driver, who violated traffic rules, did not obey the patrol's order to stop and was subsequently chased. According to information from the Mtavari Arkhi a patrol crew from Khutsishvili Street blocked the motorcycle driver's path.
In the footage obtained by the TV companies, a police patrol car can be seen with damage in the middle. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has not issued a statement regarding the incident.
The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case under Article 276, Part 6 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the violation of traffic safety or operational rules by a driver that led to the loss of human life.
