Members of the Unity - National Movement coalition stated that on October 6, an attempt was made to disrupt their pre-election meeting with voters in the Kardenakhi village, Gurjaani municipality. Levan Metreveli, the coalition's health department secretary, says that he was attacked by two individuals.

"They tried to disrupt the meeting, but they failed. I was the last speaker. When we finished, an uproar broke out there. I approached the scene and was attacked by two rather strong individuals. Judging by their build, I suspect they were former wrestlers. They were angry, swearing, and struck me three times," Metreveli said after the incident.
Levan Metreveli was later examined at a clinic. "As a doctor, I can confirm that I have all the symptoms of a concussion and a serious hematoma. I’m not yet sure if there’s a skull fracture; a CT scan has been done, and I’m waiting for the results," he told reporters.
One of the leaders of the National Movement, Petre Tsiskarishvili, linked the incident to a statement made by Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili a few months ago.
"He said there would be street violence, that the National Movement would not have a calm and peaceful pre-election period. They oppose our pre-election activities, send us threatening posters, and try to disrupt our meetings," Tsiskarishvili said.
Georgian News is awaiting a response from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ press office on whether an investigation has been initiated regarding the incident in Kardenakhi.
