"The European path of the Georgian Dream is the only European path for a united Georgia," said Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, at an event in Zugdidi, held as part of the election campaign.

Papuashvili spoke about the progress made since the Georgian Dream came to power in 2012, stating that Georgia ranks first in Europe in terms of economic growth. According to Papuashvili, "With the rule of law, the absence of corruption, and economic freedom, we are not only the leading state in the region, but we are ahead of all EU candidate countries and, in some cases, even EU members."
"We built such a Georgia in just a few years. We succeeded because, unlike the stateless opposition, we act in your interests, not to please other countries. We succeeded because we broke the vicious cycle of constant wars and did not allow this country to become a pawn in other people’s geopolitical games. We succeeded because we restored faith, tradition, homeland, sovereignty, and national interest to our political discourse. [...]
We have a few more years of dedicated and peaceful work ahead, so that Georgia can join the European family with pride and dignity, without having to beg for anything from anyone.
We must become Europeans through our Georgian identity. No one has expressed the policy of the Georgian Dream more briefly, concisely, or profoundly than Zviad Gamsakhurdia with this idea," said Papuashvili.
He also stated that the opposition's European path is that of a nation without purpose and a country without direction, where our only role is to follow the directives of others.
"The opposition's European path is a shortcut that excludes our Abkhaz and Ossetian brothers, where national unity is secondary.
The European path of the Georgian Dream is the only European path for a united Georgia. Therefore, I would like to appeal to the Abkhazians and tell them that the only way to ensure the survival and strength of our nations is through Georgia’s unity.
October 26 is approaching, the day when we must decide which path our country will take – the path of a divided, submissive Georgia, expected only to follow orders, or the path of a united, successful, proud Georgia, regarded as an equal," Papuashvili said.
According to the Chairman of the Parliament, on October 26, in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, "the key decision must be made to continue Georgia's history with dignity so that we can move toward Europe with peace, dignity, and prosperity."
