As per available reports, Koscis planned to visit the Tobavarchkhili Lakes from the Skuri resort in Tsalenjikha Municipality and then proceed to Khaishi in Svaneti. He was last seen on September 28 at the Kirnakhona camp.
“Just in case that anyone visited in the area of Tobavarchkhili lakes in late Sept or early Oct (or knows someone who was there at this period) and met him - any additional info about his location, whereabouts or travel plans, which could help to pinpoint his location would be very helpful,” said a statement released by Trekking in the Caucasus.
The administrator of the page told Georgian News that they learned about the missing person on October 10 and contacted the Czech Embassy, which then passed the information on to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ministry stated that the case has been initiated under Article 143 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to illegal deprivation of liberty.
The Tobavarchkhili Lakes route is one of the most difficult hiking trails in Georgia. The trail passes several lakes and mountain passes. From Didi Toba to Khaishi, there is a narrow 12-kilometer path leading to Lakumurash Toba, which follows a steep slope.
