The government has decided to extend the systematic land registration by one year, with completion now set for the end of 2025. As Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at today's government meeting, 1.5 million plots of land have been measured as part of the reform, with 1 million already registered.

"More than a million people have become landowners. Between 3500 and 4000 plots of land were measured and registered daily. This is a very important initiative that needs to be completed. Therefore, we decided to extend the systematic land registration. There are citizens who have not yet managed to register their land, and they will have the opportunity to do so completely free of charge until the end of 2025," said Kobakhidze.
The Ministry of Justice's systematic land registration reform, which began in 2022, was originally expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
The National Public Registry Agency is responsible for surveying and registration activities in 59 municipalities across Georgia, excluding the occupied territories and self-governing cities. As part of systematic registration, citizens can access the following services free of charge: cadastral planning and measurement of land plots, document search and systematization to confirm ownership, verification of signatures for transactions, notary mediation, recognition of ownership rights, establishment of facts, determination of land plot location, verification of identity with the ownership document, registration of ownership rights, and any changes related to them.
In addition to systematic land registration, citizens can opt for sporadic land registration, which carries a fee of 300 GEL and must be completed within three months.
