"Due to the nature of these events, the majority of planned activities involve original works. Additionally, as these activities progress, the need to collaborate with qualified performers has emerged, creating time constraints. For these reasons, it was impossible to plan the procurement in advance," explained Tbilisi City Hall.
From December 13 to January 15, Tbilisi City Hall plans to set up a New Year's City and host entertainment events near Orbeliani Square, on the Dry Bridge, in Dedaena Park, and around the parking area of the House of Justice. According to the mayor’s office, the New Year's spaces created for residents and visitors will be filled with captivating performances, cultural, sports, educational, children's activities, thematic events, and concerts spanning various genres.
"The designated locations will feature large-scale decorations and installations, themed decor, photo zones, decorated booths and stalls, arches, Christmas trees, an ice skating rink with accompanying decor, and themed decorations for the bridge, streets, and facades. There will also be children's exhibit pavilions, diverse props, furniture for children’s areas, cultural, sports, and leisure spaces, as well as Santa's house and workshop. The New Year village opening, genre-varied concerts, electronic live shows, and theatrical performances will be held," Tbilisi City Hall announced.
The plans include a Candy Festival and a Tbilisi Christmas Market. The event program will kick off with the lighting ceremony of the central Christmas tree on December 6, near the Parliament building.
