The Border Service of the State Security Committee investigated each case of violation of the legal regime. As a result, 17 individuals were fined administratively, while 6 received warnings, the so-called State Security Committee stated.
The KGB explained that "deliberate violation of the legal regimes established at the state border and in the border area can result not only in administrative penalties but also, in some cases, in criminal liability."
The de facto government previously reported that 232 people were detained at various sections of the "state border" between January and September 2024.
