In the Mtskheta region, two elderly people were killed and two others injured in a fire that broke out at a boarding house for the elderly in Mukhrani. The incident occurred last night. The fire started in the room of one of the residents, an employee of Mukhrani Savane LLC said.

The employee of the boarding house declined to comment on the details. He told Georgian News that the head of the institution, Naira Dolidze, is unable to provide any comments, as she is in a state of shock and under the supervision of doctors at home.
The State Care Agency released information about the incident. As per the agency's statement, the injured elderly individuals have been transferred to a medical facility, where they were visited by the Minister of Health, Mkhieil Sarjveladze.
"All the beneficiaries of the Mukhran shelter have undergone the necessary examinations and have been relocated to different shelters, where they are receiving all the required services.
The Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health, and Social Protection, along with the State Welfare Agency, express their deep sorrow over this tragic incident and extend their condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased," the agency's statement reads.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
