Representatives of the Russian occupation forces have illegally detained two Georgian citizens in the occupied territory near the village of Mejvriskhevi, in the Gori municipality.

Based on information from the State Security Service, the European Union Monitoring Mission's "hotline" was activated upon receiving information about the incident.
The illegal detention was reported to the co-chairs of the international discussions in Geneva and international partners. "All available mechanisms have been activated to ensure the swift release of the illegally detained Georgian citizens. Responsibility for all destructive actions committed in the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the occupation line, lies with the occupying power," the SSS statement said.
Currently, 10 Georgian citizens are being illegally detained in Tskhinvali.
