According to the Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine, 117 people, including 10 children, were injured in the capital.
Yesterday, July 8, in the morning, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. The country's largest children's hospital, Okhmatdyt, located in the Shevchenkovsky district of Kyiv where the most serious patients are treated, was bombed. It is known that two people died in the children's hospital: a doctor and a relative of one of the patients, and more than 50 were injured.
A shell also struck the private clinic Adonis, resulting in the reported deaths of five medical workers and two patients, according to media sources.
Based in information from the Security Service of Ukraine, Russia targeted the children's hospital with a Kh-101 strategic cruise missile. The agency released photos of missile fragments allegedly found at the attack site.
In contrast, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that they targeted military industrial facilities and air bases of the Ukrainian armed forces, dismissing claims of deliberate missile strikes on civilian facilities as "absolutely untrue." The Russian side further alleged, without evidence, that civilian objects may have been damaged by Ukrainian air defense missiles.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the Kremlin's statements as "cynical." According to his office, yesterday's missile attack in Ukraine resulted in at least 38 deaths and 190 injuries.
